There goes the neighbourhood

Police are investigating another disappearance in the neighbourhood last night after it was reported Max Tomlinson had been missing for 4 days. Police were called to the Tomlinson residency after his girlfriend alerted the police that Mr. Tomlinson had not been seen for 4 days. Claire Sutton became suspicious after “5-7 hours”. Miss Sutton said recent events in the neighbourhood led her to believe he was missing immediately. “He said he had to take care of a matter and that he would be back after half an hour…I just can’t believe it”. Miss Sutton told police that her boyfriend was a happy and optimistic person without any dark history. “The fact is, Max is as clean as a whistle. He can wake up on a morning and just gaze through the window for hours”. Police were reluctant to link the case to the other disappearances in the neighbourhood and Detective Sanders stated in a press conference “We have numerous leads we are investigating at the moment. We would appreciate full co-operation from members of the public and would like people not to forget that we have not found any evidence of kidnapping, murder or other suspect actions” Detective Sanders has been criticised heavily by the public after failing to uncover any clues as to the whereabouts of the missing individuals. The neighbourhood is understandably panicked and has gained national coverage after the latest disappearance. Bob Noth, a local council member, said last night that he “can understand the interest that has been caused”. Mr Noth has been on the council for 20 years and is a highly respected figure in the community. “I speak for everyone when I say that we are devastated by what has occurred lately, the fact that it has gone on for so long and we still aren’t any closer to resolving the situation is an utter disgrace. The medias sick fascination with hyping serial killers does no-one any credit. We still hold out belief that these people will come home safely, but this neighbourhood is under serious threat. That is now eleven disappearances in 8 weeks”
Many residents of the area have contemplated leaving the neighbourhood, while others have been trying to aide the police in their search. One thing is for sure, the neighbourhood will take a long time to recover.
